    ir1600 - creases every 4th page

    Hi there,

I've got a customer with an ir1600, which creases every 4th page or so.

The fuser is in good condition (the machine has only done 62K), and the only thing
I can see that is worn is the lower roller near the paper tray (sep roller).

This lower sep roller has a huge flat spot on it.

Could this flat spot be the cause of intermittent paper creasing ?

Also - does anyone know the part number for the developer (not the complete dev unit). I'm presuming the dev unit doesn't come with dev ?

We don't see many Canon machines, so are not that familiar with their weaknesses.

    Thanks in advance,

    MJ

Well i would definitely look at changing that roller as flat spots are never a good thing!

I have attached a PDF below - not sure if this is your exact problem

with regards to the part number i cannot find one for the developer

    regards

Brilliant. That pdf does indeed describe the problem exactly. I'd not thought it relevant, but the corner of the page is folder like in the sample photo.

I'll check out that grounding plate in the fuser.

Thanks for helping out - much appreciated.

Dude, replace the roller. FF6-1621-000. Not worth your time or customers time playing with flat spotted rollers. You may have issue with sep roller not rotating however and that may be cause of flat spots and wrinkling. Trip side door sensor and feed paper and see if sep roller rotates.

          Hey Emjay,
I am guessing at your question, kinda like what is,is. The copier uses toner that has the developer mix right in it, so there is no developer(mix) for the developer.

Be very careful what you assume is good on these fixing units because they are pretty much junk.

While you are in there, check to make sure the bushings are not worn, especially on the pressure roller as they have a tendency to waller out. The fixing roller will "walk" as well on these and cut into the frame of the fixing unit.

              Hi,
              This is old problem
If you check in between pressure roller and heater roller you will see a plate witch on your right site you will able to see dry toner, just clean it.

              Thanks

1.check to make sure whether paper creases before fixing unit or not
2.before fixing unit, replace two paper feed rollers ff6-1621-000,which life is 50k copies.
                    3. afer fixing unit, clean the inlet guide plate of fixing unit, clean pressure roller and heat roller, or replace the bushings of the heat roller.fb6-1548-000
