    Your description is too vague...

Have you loaded all the software that is needed on these laptops?

I am not sure, but I believe it needs Scangear installed to work, But I am not certain. I just know that a disc is included with the scanner that has all the software that is needed to access the device.

I don't have the disc. I think the software is called Capture Perfect 3.0 but Canon doesn't offer it as a download.

I don't support this product directly, on the rarest of occasions I am called upon to put some feed rollers in a 9080c that is installed at one of the banks where I service their copiers. I would suggest that you locate another customer with the same model scanner and borrow the disc from them.

          Hi All,
Canon not allow to download Capture Perfect software but it only use for scanning works and you can other software to do that job such as Adobe Acrobat professional version...
To use that machine you only have to install it's driver and download it from Canon Website.

As long as you install the correct driver (after install, go into control panel, choose scanners and cameras and right click the icon for your scanner and go to properties and click test scanner), you can use any version of MS Word (besides latest... I haven't found it yet) and click Insert, picture, from scanner. Otherwise, your stuck looking for the Capture Perfect CD that came with the scanner. All Canon DR scanners come with it despite what the customer says. Otherwise, there is no download for it.

I would doubt it. Capture Perfect is usually updated in accordance when new scanner models come out to support the new models. Unless that 7080 came with that CD its probably too old. I also don't think you can patch up to 3 either. Usually a patch would get you from 1.3 to 1.4, not 1.3 to 3.0.
