    Canon GP200e - Add toner

I am not that familiar with Canon's but I am a copier tech.
About a 1.5 months ago, the customer tried to add toner and had a toner explosion. I figured some how the customer screwed up. I cleaned it and installed the rest of the toner.

Today, the customer is completely out of toner. We are drop shipping her some. There is a pool of toner inside the copier. All front frame side, I did not see any toner in the middle or in the rear. I could not see the toner leaking any where, but they are completely out of toner. Are there bushings or something where the toner starts leaking out of? Or do you think it is just residual toner?

I did find a spring inside the machine about 1/4" long but did not see where it went.

Last thing, error light is flashing, I believe it is just because they are out of toner. Customer said they never saw that before, when changing toner.

This is one of those cartridges that latch onto the top of the developing unit, pull the top cover of the developing unit with a plastic seal, and the toner drops. The top cover is slid shut and then the cartridge is removed. If the user tries to add toner when it isn't completely out, the developing unit will take as much as it can, and the rest will dump in the front door.

I was never able to convince Canon GP/iR users that this isn't an HP all-in-one cartridge. You can't just add toner when you feel like it. You're customer wouldn't be the first to try this.

The red light probably has a lot to do with the add toner indication. Start with that. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I will keep an eye on the jamming. It is good to find the possible location to the springs.
