On my 105's I NEVER fit a drum unless I have a new AP Kit as well...new AP,Drum and blade.
Added expense I know but the 105 is a bitch for drum lines and a new AP kit and drum/blade seems to the only fix....so try a new AP kit is my advice.
The drum line issue HAS been escalated from Canon Australia to Canon Japan.
As new info filters back to me from Japan I'll post up the finds. -
In the US they came up with a kit that redirects air flow. It is just some mylar that attaches to the AP kit. They claimed it was the faster air flow inthe 105 causing toner to go were it shouldn't. Yeah I didn't buy it either. I don't think they were much help. We've had better results removing the blade backing and changing the reciprocating arm and disk. I think the later was the best help. But make sure your lines aren't from the fixing assembly. Or the dev unit for that matter. Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.Comment

Good point Kopyrtek, I didn't even think of the crossfeed banding. If it is crossfeed definately check the dev spacers and at 6 million (if they haven't already been done) I would change the drum drive gears even if they are not the issue. Is the glass half full or half empty? Set the wayback machine to Danka days....
I too like this answer,, at 6 mil a new developer certainly could not hurt, at the very least, replace those gap rollers. There was a lot to do over keeping the ends of the drum clean(polishing drum every 500k), and replacing those rollers. Also was a instructed to make sure all the screws were put back into that plate that push's the developer up against the drum. Make sure the charcoal filters are clean as well..."Once a King, always a King, but once a Knight is enough!"

If the banding in halftones is front to rear, definitely replace the yellow dev rollers and bearings. If the drum edges are getting toner build up on them, clean them and replace the cleaner seals(felt)...they keep the edges clean. The bands that Oze is talking about run in feed direction...more like grey cleaning streaks..they usually appear around 4 million....AP kit and drum.Comment
