Shesu, you have been given some very sound advice. There is a time and place to be over analytical but an office environment is not one of them. Why cant you just replace the entire fixing assembly? and troubleshoot the old one in the shop, if you are that enthralled with the fix?. I don't want to sound "Harsh" but.... your customer is going to grow tired of being used for a "Reseach and Development Location". I always try to remind myself that: Mr. Customer did not call me into their office to socialize, and everytime you return for the same issue, they loose confidence in your ability. They have a problem and they want that problem fixed (promptly).

You should be using Fuser grease, like UNIFLOR 8172 we are using this it runs well & wont dries up. Hope this help.
But this grease don't come cheap.
