    3235 Black LCD

LCD screen is black except for a faint, skinny vertical line going down the leftmost side of the screen, less than a millimeter wide.all panel lights are on. The copier prints fine. You can even hear the beep when you touch the LCD leading me to believe if I knew the screen better I could make a 2sided copy.

I am going to make an order by noon today for the control panel assy. Unless someone has had this problem before and knows which individual part may be bad.

I am assuming the LCD Module is toast, im just not sure enough to just order that and have to go back with something else.
Canon tech support suggested the whole assy, of course they would its more money! lol. If i told him the ADF was jamming he would have give me the part number for the ADF .

    Try this

Check all connectors dissassembly and reassembly.
Sometimes it works, otherwise if you have problem with returning tested things so go for the whole assy.
Saves time and the result is gooood.
Otherwise my sugestion is the lcd display + toutchscreen.
The price could be near assy price.
    Good luck

        Think refurbed part, not new...

Nationwide and Hytec have these rebuilt, less cost than a new assembly. Also very few people are aware that they also provide tech support. I have not talked to them, but I know folks in my company have. I assume that you have to actually have had purchased something from them in the past to get tech support though...

Had this issue recently and the Main controller solved the problem.

replace the inverter pcb, eventhough it's black but you can actually see image on the screen. i encountered this before. canon tech told me that the ir3235 ir3245 always get this problem. don't change the whole assembly cost you a lot
