Are you formating the hard drive using SST. Are you using nethawk(USB to parelel) cable. Nethawk cable needs to be installed (Software) on your computer. not just a cable.

Are you using a IEEE1284 bi-centronics cable hooked up to a parallel port set to ECP mode or using a nethawk (special Canon usb-to-parallel cable).

Thank you; can i know how to set the ecp mode. i use bicentronic cable and the sst show that. The thing i don't undestand, is why have i succes to format the hdd or when i try to download the boot it go well? Is this possible when the cable config is failled? The system to download first can not go when i take one by one but if a take the boot, or the rui to download they go well at the end the machine show that data is writting now don't cut power. The machine error is E602-01. After succed to format the hdd, the error became E602-02.

Can not change to ECP mode if under windows XP. I use a low speed mode parallel. But still ok.

Now I think it sounds like just your ir2200 system file is corrupt. The latest version is 45.01 and looking at my C:\servtool\ir2200\system its 26.5 mb in size. I suppose its possible if you downloaded it for the boot and rui to be fine but the system got corrupt. Get a new copy of the system software.
If you can connect to the copier with SST I'd eliminate your cable or port settings.

There are some method to check corrupted file, for example, 2200 system: It is at c:\servicetool\ir2200\system\usenv4501\ir2200-usen4501-5af7.prg.
The 5AF7 is 16 bit check sum of file ir2200-usen4501-5af7.prg.
Use disk utilities tool to open prg file, calculate its 16 bit check sum will get 5AF7. The same method can apply to any others prg files.

ieee1394 is pertaining to your Firewire port, and it cannot be utilyzed for SST.

I try at least 5 hdd and i have the same error.

Because I have 4 ir2200, 3300 with same error of hdd. I ve taking another hhd with is good and i try to download and it do the same error the system can not download but i win to format the hdd. Ithink that the system is not good. The file is 1,5 MO

Ok just to review, your problems are: 1.You have a Non compliant HDD 2.Check sum error 3. E602

You have tried: 1.Reinstall SST 2.Change PC 3.Other HDD 4.Using parallel cable now

I think problem #1 is resolved, you must have followed those instructions for adding the HDD model number, because you are able to format the HDD. As for problem #2, your file is 1.5MB when it should be 26.5 MB. Get a new good copy of the ir2200 firmware. I think the 602 codes are just another symptom of the bad (1.5MB) system file.

Just to cover even more ground, to get my IBM thinkpad with WinXP to work with SST and a parallel cable I had to:
                        1. Enable legacy Plug and Play detection.
                        2. Enable using any interrupt assigned to the port.
                        3. Change operating mode to ECP.
This was done in the device manager, propeties of the parallel port.

After you successfuly format your HDD,you need to know your boot rom version,if is N version, you only need to download 2200N>"System" firmware into your HDD.

                                Ditto.

MrFixit I just saw where you are from. If you work for a Canon dealership I think I know which one (if it's not Ikon), and a very good one at that.
