Resetting parts counters(while sneaky) is not illegal...tampering with the meters IS however against the law and ranks alongside turning back the odometer on a motor vehicle.

Go to the dc controller and cut all the wires that control the counter. That should do it.

                          Hi guys.
Lera want to say that you must your screw driver put in pcb and must be sound like schhhhhh and in that case machine is turn off. Your counter on copier be 0 cout becouse you can not see on diplay ..... Hahahahahaha Lera you a sucker... Counter is write at least on 3 diferent places and you can not cracket it to zero . Dont be smart too much. Read some service manual ( if you are a authorized canon dealer) otherwise dont repair Canon.
