Toner being dumped on cleaning blade stay (3200)

I posted about this a couple of weeks ago but still having problems with my 3200 dumping a load of toner on the cleaning blade stay.

It was suggested on my last thread I check that the gear that drives the blade was ok (it is). The other suggestion was to change the drums - 2 of them were only 12% used - I just replaced the other 2 to be sure but I've still got the problem, so don't think it can be that.

I've attached a pic of the problem - the only strange thing I encountered was a bit of the black foam was loose/torn off on the right hand side of the stay.
Anyone got any ideas on this?

Check the drive for the cleaning unit coil.

        Thanks for the replies.

Kopyrtek - I checked and the coil turns ok with the gear, if that's what you mean.

Waffu - yes, it was seated correctly, I've had it in and out numerous times and it's still doing it. If it makes any difference, it was a new blade assembly I put in just before this started happening.

Was it a new blade, or the entire asm? Since you have alluded to a timeline, that points to the blade installation, I would advise replacing the entire blade assembly, and make sure that it has drum lube on the edge. A possible "dry spot" on blade could set up some vibration, blowing the spent toner out of the asm in that area.

            Hi Mr Fix,

It was the entire asm - I'm just thinking though, I don't think it came with any lube, do they have to be lubed from new? that could well be the problem!

There is a new style mylar for that. It's a little stiffer and blue in color. I had the same problem in a cir5180 dumping toner on copies as it passed under.

Thanks DLP - is that the thin rubber sheet below the blade asm? I'd had to vacuum the excess toner off the asm and thought this might've been drawn out of position.

I think it's the same, this is the mylar on the waste toner coil assy. It's just below the ITB belt cleaning blade assy and just 1 screw to remove it.
Sounds like the same thing I had, a big pile of toner on that rail. I vacuumed it and it came back. I replaced that mylar and havn't seen it again. GL
