is it possible in an emergency, on a temporary basis, to substitute a fix film assembly from a ir3245 to a ir 4570?
Thanks, have cust down.
Just ran afoul of this last Thursday... I have been using the lower end fixing film 2270 in the 3025 ok, but I tried to use the 4570 film in a 3245, and found that even though they both have 3 pins, the plugs are not compatible... So now I am going to have to carry another set of fixing films. I had to do what Oze suggested, and pull the whole damn thing out again and just swap the good film onto the 3245 core.

Just as a heads up as the film is different from the iR2270 to the iR3570. The same is applicable to the iR3245 and iR3225/iR3235, I now carry 4 sets of fixing films for what is basically the same machine!!

Hi Monsoon,
Yeah, I knew that, I have only carried the 3300 asm and the 2270 & 4570 films. Now I have to carry 2 more... My Honda Fit is getting stuffed!

LOL...van stocks are great...til that happens eh?
Fixit...it's pain that even though the two films have a three pin pug...they're just that little bit different.
That caught me out the first couple of times..hence the old swap the old film onto the new heater shuffle.
Gotta say though..be aware of the heater mods for these new models.
I put a brand new film assembly into a ir3245 last week and straight away the heater blew.
Had me ducking from sniper bullets it was so loud....so i had to put the new film onto their old heater to get them out of trouble.
Symptom An error code (E000 / E001 / E002) is indicated in response to cracking in the Fixing Heater.
Cause The inadequate margin for the Fixing Heater against fluctuations in voltage can cause cracking at the edge of its Heating Element. The symptom is noted in a 240V area where fluctuations are common and in response to a sudden rise in voltage.
Factory measures To prevent cracking in the Heater caused by an unexpected fluctuation in voltage, a change has been introduced to the electrode pattern of the Heating Element and also to the sequence used to supply voltage to the Fixing Heater (through modification of the DC Controller software).
Action If the foregoing symptom has occurred, replace the Fixing Film Unit or the Fixing Assembly with a new type. Also, check the version of the DC Controller and upgrade it to v18.01 or later after the foregoing replacement.
