It seems to me there is a setting in the fax setup, that has to do with larger paper being sent to the fax machine, and the fax machine is supposed to go into a reduction mode to accomodate the oversized sent document. It is usually set up so that only the "intrack" image is reduced. Like X only instead of X&Y.

Does this occur with all faxes?

      Thanks for your help
The fax set up is matching the 2nd machine there have on another floor
Did think of that 1st off
Sent a fax from the faulty one to the good one and it worked
Got the set up and copied it
Sent fax from the good one to the faulty one and every time it's the same
1st page out, beep beep beep,Incorrect paper size
      Never seen this error before

So yes,to answer that Q. Every fax is the same, and the set up is the same as a good working 1570

        This sounds like your issue...

7.3.3 Detecting the Size of Paper

The machine detects the size of paper in the cassette in any of two ways: LGL size detection and non-LGL size detection.

LGL detection is performed by means of a LGL paper sensor (PS101). The LGL size detection mechanism is used to prevent picking up a subsequent sheet of paper before the trailing edge of paper leaves the cassette, otherwise occurring if the pickup was let to occur at the same time using other sizes when picking up LGL paper.

Non-LGL detection is performed using the paper leading edge sensor (PS102) based on the length of paper. In fax mode, if paper of a size different from the size selected from the control panel is placed, the DC controller will identify a paper size mismatch at the end of printing and indicate a message on the LCD.

So,, maybe you are having an issue with the PS102???

          BINGO.....
          Yeah
          Fixed it
Was to do with PS102 Thanks
The flag was so warn down, it wasn't making a fill swing into the sensor
Temp fixed by temp glue a cable tie onto the flag, and extending it
          Many Thanks MrfIXIT
