canon ir2800 dark prints

Hello all
I've got an canon imagerunner 2800
its makes dark copies in the morning only
fax and network prints come out fine
just copies are dark
any ideas????
please help

Check your scanning lamp. Is it light up during copying?

Yep check the lamp also clean the optics and try doing a CCD adjust.
If you are unable to perform a CCD adjust, then you might have bad lamp or a bad CCD. Things you will notice if you have a bad lamp, it can flicker or it won't turn on.

When you say this only happens in the morning
Is the customer turning the machine of during the night
Is the energy mode turned on/off
Maybe something worth looking it, might be worth turning sleep mode off

how does prints come out in the mornings?

Try giving it a cup of coffee...It helps me in the morning.. Check the scanning Mirror to be sure it was not knock out of place. I had one of my tech's do this and cause a problem...Scan lamp will do this also
