Another Fax question. I'm getting a lot of No good's (##018) from this fax. It is an extremely active fax, doesn't sit idle for more then 5-10 minutes all day. In case the line is busy, I have the retry set for 10 times. They aren't sure if they were using both lines or not in the other building but it does have the capability for dual lines. Anyone see the ##018's before? Would having them add a second line help?

Finally some issue not related to free SST, firmware or bad HDD..

I was surprised that I may have the answer for you on this one,,, in fax land I am blond. If you have a single phone line hooked to a machine that has 2 ports, tha fax will attempt to use the port that is not cabled, causing you this problem. There is in settings somewhere, the ability to turn off the second line. Your problem will go away!

My manager caught that one for me on a 2270 with a dual capable fax hooked to single phone line. In single mode it was fine, but when it went into broadcast mode, if other faxes got queued up it would try to use the 2nd line. He shut off the 2nd port and all has been well eversince.

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving D_L_P!
