    iR5000i

I have a few problems I want to share on all colleagues.
Who knows there are colleagues who can help me.
Problems that I want to ask is:

    1. I want a scan of my machine ir5000i canon, can be edited directly in microsoft office. Are there any special software that can scan from scanning ir5000i to office document files?
    2. I want to try to use the facility Send Files in Mailbox menu. I want to transfer the results of scans on the mailboxes to a folder on your computer. But always arises "CHECK THE SERVER". Are there errors or omissions from the installation process? Please note that I ir5000i machine I connect directly to a computer by using RJ45 cable.

You want to push scan to Microsoft office.
You can push scan to Microsoft Outlook via email.
But you would have to set up this portion using your SMTP credentials.
Do you have a SMTP server Or Mircosoft Exchange server?

As for the "CHECK THE SERVER" message. I'm guessing if you check the error history on these send files it would be a #801-A timeout error occurred while the machine was communicating with the SMTP server.

Was this portion set up correctly?

Also you can't send files directy from the mailbox to a shared folder,
you can try to use the send feature to do this, I think Ive seen this done once before but not with this model.

Order yourself a send manual it will give you all the steps you would need.

        Take care.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I think I read that wawan is connected directly to the MFP via "RJ45". I'm hoping this is a crossover cable. If so there probably isn't any SMTP anything, and the options are an SMB scan to shared folder or a TWAIN scan to a compatible application like Publisher.

About the editing of scans, it's going to depend on the file format you choose. If you selected .pdf you'll need the professional version of Adobe. If you selected .tif or .jpg you can use a program like Paint to edit the content.

To use scan to email you'll need to be connected to a network that includes an SMTP server, and it sounds like you are not. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I had this issue on an iR3200 once; the customer printed documents to it, (the mailbox, that is), then wanted to fax them out afterwards, directly from the control panel. (The customer made beer kegs! ) Kind of a poor man's "fax on demand", if you will.

Canon tech support told me that you could only send out documents which had been scanned in, not printed. That was because the documents were stored in a "print ready" format once they were printed to the mailbox. The only thing we could do with the docs which had been "printed in" was to print them out. Once we printed them out and scanned them to the mailbox, things worked as desired - we could fax and email them as desired, between the fax option and Universal Send.

I would think that the same rules would apply to this model,as well, but it's hard to say for sure.

make sure its already cross over cable you use... because you directly connect the machine to your computer.
