Error not in Manual E 246

In 8500 after 1 copy I get the error E246. The error is not in the SM. Has anyone experienced this.

thanks i found it mentioned in NAVI. still why a perfectly running machine all of sudden keeps displaying this code

I had an iR5055 call up E246 today.
It's the counter pcb or at least...a problem occurred whilst data was trying to be written to the pcb.
In my machine's case a simple restart cleared it but be mindful that it may be the sign of a defective counter pcb.

its a camunication error
The EEPROM on the reader controller PCB is faulty. The reader controller

PCB is faulty.

may cause of loose contact of comunication port between scanner and copier
check and re connect it
