You can't use a network card with the SST (at least for some of the really important things) even if you have it on the IR2200 series (consists of 2200,2800 and 3300).

Is there an option in SST 4.11E to use bi-centronics instead of network? You can use that with an IEEE1284 (aka bi-centronics) parallel cable. Make sure your computer's parallel port is configured for ECP support in the BIOS (usually you can access this by pressing a button such as F10 soon after you switch on the machine), and in the device manager settings for the parallel port.

If you wish to use a USB port you need to have a nethawk cable (special usb-to-parallel cable) and to install the nethawk driver on your computer.

u need to use a usb to parallel using the nethawk driver or parallel cable ieee1284 for the 2200,3300 series. there is no fixed IP.

Hi guys,

First off, I am very impressed with the amount of information available on this forum I spent hours looking for some information to help me resolve my problem, and here it is!
I have an IR2200 and want to turn it into a network printer. Just installed the network kit and now, I guess I have to do something in the service mode to make it work. the N Boot is installed, I believe it is 26.44N, but unfortunatelly the PS/PCL setting shows --. Do I need the sst software to upload this stuff? If yes, would someone be so kind and email me the sst software and point me in the right direction where I could get the PS/PCL software in the first place?

You need SST and the networked system firmware for the copier. IR2200s ship without the PS/PCL installed on the machine. This is so that if you want to get a network kit, a tech has to make a visit to make it work. Canon could have just made the networked firmware and put network boot roms in all the copiers so all you needed to network it was to install the NIC, but they didn't. If you wish to use your copier as a printer you need to install the networked firmware using SST. Installing the network firmware should put the PS/PCL drivers on the copier if done properly. Then you can either hook up a parallel cable to your pc or install a NIC and connect the copier to your network, making the appropriate setting changes on the copier e.g. IP address, subnet mask.

Once you've got the firmware installed on the copier, you will need the computer drivers for the copier freely available from canon e.g. the Canon USA website to install on your computer as the drivers are not included with Windows. Set up the printer on your print server and share it with the rest of your network or set it up individually on each machine if you prefer.

I have a Canon IR3530 and the hard disk has errors because of a recent electricity fluctuation. So I will replace the hard disk with a new one and I really need this software.

On a working IR3530 with no problem whatsoever I have tried to remove the hard disk and thought of copying its files to my laptop them pasting the same files to a new hard disk. But to my surprise I could not access the hard disk of the working unit 3530, all I get is four partitions and when I try to get in the partition it say the drive is not formatted. Is this normal sir?

Could you please instruct on the proper way of replacing the hard disk.

Ir3300 problems

Hi, is there anyone who can help me with my problems ? Got hard disk problems, error code something about 062-0003.
If I am to buy new hard disk, is there anything else I should do to make this machine works ? I heard about sst and firmware, but from previous thread, I can't figure out the password for site download.
