That's because people (And I use that term loosely) Google ' SST ' and it points to this site, so they come here and beg.

            Re: Canon service support tool

Sorry to bother such a private group. I'm not a beggar, I'm just a person in need. I work for the government of a small and poor country and in these days I'm forced to fix things with no money. We have this Canon ir1022if for very long time and it was mostly kept in the warehouse. It has only 25000 copies in almost 10 years of service. Now we need to have it working as a networked scanner only and unfortunately it has some networking problems that, I, as an unexperienced fellow, thought that those problems can be solved by rewriting the internal firmware. I dont know much about this domain but I have to choose between throwing it away or save it for a limited functionality usage.
My mistake was to believe that even this problem can be solved asking for help from professionals of this field. I already opened a thread and got some extraordinary detailed feedback from 'teckat' and also from 'bipc' whom I thanks for all the help they gave me. I dont have the necessary tools and the most important 'the knowledge' to face this issue.
I dont want to argue with anybody, but I dont think appropriate to be considered a detestable person just because of my tech curiosity. Maybe I have little knowledge in this field of activity but this cannot be used as an excuse for making wrong assumptions too easy, if you understand what I mean. This smells like 'USA vanity'.
Anyway, having thousands of posts doesn't make you special. Only the recognition and appreciation of the others can be used as a tool to measure such thing.
I know that knowledge is power but sharing it is powerful.
Once again, sorry for interrupting this 6 years source of wisdom with my incredible impertinence, muis tule.

First of all : I'm not a Canon tech, but I love these "I want SST version xxxx, send in my email"-posts. I'm into Ricoh, Kyocera, Oki, and sometimes HP, and in very few cases Canon (allthough Canon and HP are often the same...) so I can't help you with firmware. There are a lot of people posting requests for firmware, manuals, bulletins etc. When you give it to them, you won't be hearing from them again. So when first-time-posters are asking for these things people here can act a little suspicious.

OK, no problem, I will continue the discussion only on the thread that I opened in June.
                  Code:
                  [URL]http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/canon/78147-canon-ir1022if-network-issue.html[/URL]
Thanks for past and future help for me and the others. All of you are doing a great job here. That's why, many search terms we use on google related to printing/scanning we are pointed here. This place has relevant content on many real issues regarding dedicated tech equip.

now here's a refreshing question, not asking or demanding for SST or firmware but just didn't read the "CANON" on the topic's title (this part of the forum is for CANON COPIERS ONLY) sorry

ehhhem, this is a really long thread but it does have in the title something that I probably need. Does anybody have a SST? I got nothing to trade for it, just a happy face.
