    Image won't print on 11x17

I have a client that tries to print out a C4 image file, Its a bitmap compressed file and for some reason it does not want to print out the image on 11x17, it comes out blank. But if you send the print job to a LTR size it prints out. I've tried all drivers, UFRII,PCL5e,PS. Its a IR3245i. I'm very familiar with printing preferences and I've tried all I've been trained to do.

They also have lanier copier that prints out fine on 11x17 using that same C4 image file. The only thing that I suspect is that the lanier has a true post script driver and canon is emulated, Hummmm?

    Suggestions?

I think you're right about the emulated vs true PS, it might just be a limitation of the Canon PS with compressed images.

Can't say that I've seen anything like that. The only thing I can think of is in the printer properties, under the advanced tab, try changing the print processor from RAW to EMF(newest version) or TEXT. I've think I've had more success with the print preferences page, which you tried already. Don't you just hate it when you hear ...but our (insert other brand here) works just fine?

I'll try the NT EMF see if that helps. Tomorrow I'm going to try a downloading a P.S driver from adobe as well see if that also helps. If it works on the lanier it should work on the canon. I will keep posted.

      Thanks DLP.

Do you have a "Print As Image" option under Advanced? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Canon took that option away a couple of years back. The fiery print driver still has it though. Let us know what results you get the adobe driver and the EMF setting.

just looked at at 3245 driver

it looks like there is a print as image check box in the drivers (PCL5e)
              printing preferences>quality>details>misc

default on the driver I am looking at is "print text as graphics" uncheck that and you can set it for "download as bit image"

that being said there is a thread on the canon support site with this exact problem on an IR600 and the IT guy at the customers office said it is a file issue not a machine issue and that you can search a file type called "Edmics" where you take a C4 file and print it out on 11x17.

I tried the print as image check box in the drivers (PCL5e)
printing preferences>quality>details>misc. Did not make a difference, also the NT EMF did not help.

I tried the downloading the generic PS driver from adobe but it wouldn't give a 11x17 option, so that also did not work.

I agree that its not the machine, the problem is, or
                1. The driver.
                2. The C4 image file.

I started playing around with more generic PS drivers, I tried the IR330-400 PSv 1.0 driver and i got the image to print out but, it was cut off. But, I got closer to solving it. So being that it work with that PS driver, the 330-400 PS is true post script unlike the emulated type that come with these current IR's.

I ask my client for the hell it to let me get the Lanier user software and I installed it and configure the driver to print to the IR and it worked. Crazy but true. As I did my research on Lanier, I checked the specs on there printing features and they use true post script. This is why I was leaning towards the drivers, it was the only thing that made sense to me since it was printing on LTR. I renamed the driver to a IR3245i and walked out celebrating. Thanks guys for helping out. Problem solved. Hopfully this helps someone esle in the future.
