Imagepass M2 work on Ir-105 but not on IR-8500

I have 2 of these and they are both doing the same thing they work connected to the IR-105
But when hooked up to the IR-8500 they boot up and come to idle and print a config page but the local network does not connect the little yellow light next to the cable is off. The cable is good the IR-8500 has up to date system software and the img is set on 4. does anyone know why this is happening ? Its driving me crazy trying to figure it out.I tried resetting to factoy default when hooked up to the 105,shut down and then hook up to the 8500 and run set up still the same thing.
    Thanks

What version software is on the imagepass?
I believe it has to v2.12 in order to work with
    the ir8500.

I have ran into issues with M2's "marrying" themselves to particular products before. I re-install the system software(latest and proper),re-configure it, and away it goes.

Thanks for the help screwtape and canuck. It has system 2.12 in it already. I still have to try reloading the system like canuck says. Im waiting for the cd i ordered. The really wierd thing about it is I brought it to my shop and hooked it up to an IR-8500 with network boot rom and system changed img to 4 and it was working on my machine. Im thinking that somehow that the customer having 2 m2s on his network at the same time might be the issue even though they both have different ips. Ill let you know after i reload the system.

I got 6 on one network...no problems...run them thru Command Workstation. Reload the RIP software, set img-cont to 0 on machine. Power it down and reboot. Now set it to 4 and reboot. Start the RIP
