    c-1 and fuser issues

i seem to have a lot of problems with this fuser, mainly related to belt assy.
i seem to either not have enought fuser oil on the pressure plate or too much, both give different error codes.
All input related to fuser assy is greatly appreciated.

There a fuser kit. Maybe its time to replace parts. There is no fuser oil for this machine. The toner is wax base, that's where you get the shine from.

When you put the fuser oil on the plate inside the lower belt only put two small drops about a 1/3 of the way in from each end. One on each side. Then take a folded piece of paper and spread it out evenly. This is the way I have been applying the oil to the plate for the past 3 years now on the C1 and 7000 series and rarely have a problem with it.

Oh your talking about lubrication on the belt
              not the fuser function

              Quick question,
Is the DEV starter for the C1 and the 7000 the same?
the V toner is, its just in a larger toner cart for the 7000
my guess is its the same

thanks for the 2 drops idea. manual talks about soaking a lint free cloth, if i go with no oil i get e014 0002, when i have used too much oil the belt would not track properly and either give 007 error code or would end up damaging belt. and of course with machine being 90 miles up the road.
my opinion, worse canon color box since the 200.

                    Oze,
Imho, C1 was a great idea that was not field tested to failure.
This one cost Canon its place against XEROX.

The IRC-3100 is still worse than the C1 but that is totally different story altogether. You are correct with the oil that if you put too much the belt will slip and get off track. That can also cause delay jams as well. Good luck!!!
