    IR2800 No didplay

Hi guys, can anyone shed some light on this. we have been to an ir2800 with no display. When you power up the machine you get the peripherals making their usual homing noises and the machine does initilal rotations and stops. no display and only the green power light remains on.
Checked all O/Ps from the power supplies o.k. Infact i changed all power supplies, control panel, DC controller, checked all contacts but still no joy ... HMMM was wondering if any one else has had a similar problem. Could this be the HDD...Any help apreciated..

Why don't you check the main controller area. Check memory, bootrom, connectors. Yes a bad HDD can cause this as well. If you have to replace the HDD your gonna need system firmware.

    Good luck.

I agreed with Screwtape, try to clean the contact point of the BootRom or change one, if fail then you have to try to the HDD.

Remove n re seat memory dimms !!! Are both led's flashing on main controller ??? if so could be bad memory !!!!
        or
Try this = turn off>unplug HDD> re boot printer, see if splash screen comes up & green power light stays on >if so HDD is bad.

If I get you right ,, the copier will boot, but show an E602 on the screen? cool, never thought of that..

instead of changing >Power Supplies , Control Panels & PCB's, u have to first slow down when n u approach a problem. as a troubleshooter, that is the first lesson I learned."Keep it Simple at First"
                  I always start with>
                  Who
                  serviced the printer last ?
                  What
                  was done ?
                  When
did symptom appear ? ( before or after service)
I can say, in over 20 yrs of servicing Canon B&W & Canon Color machines, I have only changed about 15 Pcb's.

Is the contrast been turned down?
