I have a customer that has a fax machine that gear chatters. Swapped fuser, drum, no difference. The transport belts seem to chatter with this noise. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks!

I take it a step further,, the distance between drum/transfer and fuser is so short, there is no need for the belt drive in the first place. Like Copyhere explained, remove the screw to access the drive assembly. I remove the gears, turn the belts over so the smooth side is facing towards the paper and place the drive assembly back in place. No parts,, and no jamming, because the paper is transported by the drum/transfer roller pressure to the fuser entry area"Once a King, always a King, but once a Knight is enough!"

Just bear in mind, if your customer uses this as a printer and/or expects quality print/fax quality out of this machine that when you pull that gear/belt you will get a blur image defect on the lead edge of page. If they bark you will have to replace the gear assy. (or quick fix would be to swap mini gears, if possible) and shaft in rear. Always lube the gear up after replacement. Good luck. The glass maybe half full, but less is more...
