How to Reset Copy Counter in IR Series ?

    Hi,

I am looking for a solution which would allow me to reset the copy counter in IR 3300 / IR 5000 / IR 6000 Machines.

Does any one have any idea how to do this ?

    Thanking You,

It cannot be done, the counter is a hard counter it does not have a soft reset, you must purchase and replace the counter PCB. (only available as a canon service spare part, can't be bought in a store or online.

By doing this your customer will be misleading themselves by thinking it's like a car speedo that can be wound back using a cordless drill.

Counters are important for error codes, jam codes, and the part counters. Each time a jam or error occurs a counter reading is attached to each instance so you can see how many copies between jams or errors.

Leave it be, it is more important to leave it alone.

Why would the customer want this..the only way that it would benefit them would be to sell the machine with a reset counter...thats fraud..tell them to take a hike...i work for canon and would lose my job for doing that(probably get charged and sued also)

                              hrm

i guess one shouldnt buy refurb copiers in the 3rd world - one never knows what the counts will be - oddly enough as a tech i would never imagine resetting the main counter
