The Fiery is attempting to broadcast over port 137 using the IP 10.255.255.2 . 137 is Netbios traffic so I disabled windows printing on the Fiery using the printer setup interface. I also disabled ports 137-139 in the security config, but I think that is for incoming connections. Neither fixed this. Does anyone know how to disable this broadcast? This doesn't seem like expected behavior since its not using the assigned IP address. I'm getting flooded with IP spoof alerts from my firewall.
Need help to stop Canon C3220 C1 w/ Fiery NetBIOS broadcast!

the fiery and the printer have the IPs 10.255.255.1 and 10.255.255.2 and communicate their own network. I'm not sure why the 10.255.255.2 address is showing up on the LAN.Comment

what ver of C1 do u have -2.1/2.1.1/2.1.2 ???
because there was a patch file released for Multicast/Broadcast for C3220/2620.
Run the IPCONFIG command. Start/ Run=Type cmd and click OK. Then, type IPCONFIG /ALL. The details of your network adapters will be displayed. You can use this information to further troubleshoot errors on your network.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

I remember seeing this scheme 10.255.255.1 and 10.255.255.2 on a sevice call with a H1. It had to do with troubleshooting communication between the imagepass and copier.
You should have one device that communicates with your network, that would be the C1 ,via cat5e.(Ethernet cable). And the printer should be communicating with the fiery via crossover cable.
The fiery and the printer should be communicating in a peer to peer protocol (IPs 10.255.255.1 and 10.255.255.2)
As of matter of fact the copier should not be set up with a IP address, you should not even have that option from the machine when a fiery is mounted, you won't even see that option under system setting>network setting from the copier.
Do you have a printer tab on the operators panel.
You should see one called Printer, if not you fiery is not communicating correctly with the copier.Comment
