Have a IRC3220 that goes into printer is warming up, then panel locks up. This is 1 of about 4 I picked up in a package and am curious if maybe it needs flashing or possibly wrong boot rom, panel locks up too quick to see the version in the service mode. This has a fiery on it so I know it should have a copy rom. Any ideas?

Try this,
After power on and immediately when the display comes up, enter service mode and select Copier/Option/Int-Face. Select Img-Cont and press 3, press OK and power the machine off then on again. NOTE: Img-Cont will show it's at 3 already but ignore the setting and select it as though it wasn't previously set.
IMPORTANT: If you are not able to enter service mode and change the value before the control panel locks up you will not be successfull in clearing the lock up. In this case see secondary procedure below.
SECONDARY PROCEDURE: Power off the machine and remove the upper back cover and the cover to the Main Controller pcb. Remove the Open Interface pcb (located under the NIC card). Temporarily install the Main Controller fan so you don't get an error code and turn the power on. When the display comes up enter service mode and select Copier/Option/Int-Face. Select Img-Cont and press 3, press OK. Power the machine off then reinstall the Open Interface pcb, Main Controller pcb cover, and back cover. Power the machine back on. -
or this may be easier,
When powering up machine go into fixed IP mode (1 and 7 keys held down). Control panel does not lock up and at that point you can enter service mode and reset COPIER>OPTION>INT-FACE>IMG-CONT to 3.
Note: IMG-CONT will display a "3" already. Simply highlight it, Press 3, Press OK, then power cycle the machine.Comment

If I understood you, the machine presents continuously the message "warming up" correct? The fuser reaches the required temperature, I think. Check and replaced the drum unit (for check * 28 * copier - misc - check the values - should be below 100).Comment
