The copier started with the error e602-003 which points to hard drive corrupted. I replaced the HDD and did the firmware, which all seemed to go fine. Now when i boot up the copier it goes into e602-004, i cannot find this code in the service manual, or online. can anyone shed some light for me please?

Try this first>hold down the '1' and '9' keys on the keypad for approximately 6-8 seconds. A flashing block will show in the top left corner of the LCD. Normally, 'HD-Check' lasts about 15-20 minutes, and ends if no fault is encountered or specific sectors have automatically been repaired bringing up DOWNLOAD MODE on the LCD. DO NOT STOP ONCE STARTED. In certain cases, "HD-Check" can take longer than 15-20 minutes and sometimes the machine can hang in this mode and will never complete.
if not repaired try this below:
E602-0004 – An error is found in the read/write address for the hard disk.
Read/write error on HD
[Equivalent to a Low Level
Format]
Perform the following:
1. SERVICE_MODE>COPIER>FUNCTION>SYSTEM>CHKTYPE,
and Select #1 through #4.
2. Press OK
3. Press HD-CLEAR for each CHK-TYPE #.
4. Press OK
5. Turn OFF/ON machine.
NOTE:
Performing CHK-TYPE #1 will erase Mailbox Registration**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.** -
thank you for the reply, turns out that i was doing the firmware in the wrong sequence,, i downloaded the "Boot" to the copier first. After doing the firmware again with "boot" Last on the sequence of downloads the copier works fine.Comment

Someone here can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think if you're going to flash the boot, you need to do that first. That probably wasn't the reason the machine coded, It probably just needed to be reflashed. Did you format the drive before you loaded firmware?Comment

Currently, there are two types of batch files available, ALL and ALL_HDF. The difference in these files relates mainly to which Download Modes will be available.
I. ALL: The ALL file is meant for reinstallation of software onto a machine that already contains a working system (i.e. Download Mode in Service Mode can be entered). 1. Power up holding down 1 and 7 keys and enter download mode through service mode.
2. Install BOOT (BootROM).
3. Install SYSTEM.
4. Install LANGUAGE.
5. Install RUI.
6. Install MEAP CONT.
7. Install BROWSER.
8. Install TTS.
9. Install SDICT.
10. Install KEY.
11. Install DCON.
12. Install RCON.
II. ALL_HDF: The ALL_HDF is intended for use when a HDD has been formatted with HDFormat or when a new service part HDD has been installed (i.e. there is no working system installed).
1. Power up holding down 2 and 8 keys to enter download mode.
2. Install SYSTEM.
3. Install LANGUAGE.
4. Install RUI.
5. Install MEAP CONT.
6. Install BROWSER.
7. Install TTS.
8. Install SDICT.
9. Install KEY.
10. Firmware has been downloaded to the HDD. Click Finish.
11. Turn off and turn on copier to complete installation of downloaded firmware.
12. Wait for the message 'Switch OFF the power then ON' on the copier. Turn off copier and power it back on holding down 1 and 7 keys and enter download mode through service mode.
13. Install BOOT (BootROM).
14. Install DCON.
15. Install RCON.
The ALL_HDF Batch File and Formatting the Hard Drive :
The ALL_HDF batch file does NOT format the HDD. The HDD must be formatted by using the HDFormat file. On the newer model machines, you must connect to the device in 'Single Mode' to format the HDD with the HDFormat file.
If you replace the HDD on a machine, the HDD must be formatted using the HDFormat file BEFORE performing a batch install with the ALL_HDF batch file. Otherwise, the ALL_HDF batch install will fail.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment
