    SST connection via network

    Hi,
I'm trying to connect to my IR105 via network but I keep getting error code 147.
Seems its can't connect to the copier. Any idea?

    1. Start up the laptop
    2. Check to be sure that your laptop/network settings as follows:

    IP address: 172.16.1.10
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: none
    1. Turn off the machine’s power switch.
    2. Connect the machine and the PC with a cross cable.
    3. While holding down the 2 and 8 keys of the keypad on the copier’s control panel at the same time, turn on the main power switch (so that the copier will start in download mode within safe mode).

    Start up the SST.

Thanks teckat, but it seems the copier is not responding. Any particular reason for this?

I don't believe the 105 supports Fixed-IP mode in download mode. The 105+ does.

Check the Device Specific Notes section at the end of the SST manual.

Try using the USB parallel cable. You might need the canon one if your laptop does not have a parallel port.
Also, what service support tool are you using?

I'm using 4.22. I might just have to take my desktop to the copier...

A code 147 = TCP/IP connection error fail with the Service Support Tool when flashing > you should immediately ping the host machine. If you get a reply, and still get the 147 error, try setting IMG-CONT to 0 in service mode: Copier/Option/Int-Face/Img-Cont. Then set the machine up again, in safe mode try flashing again. Don't forget to reset Img-Cont back to 3 after flashing the machine.

your post message has SST via network ???

if you are using the SST to install ir105 Firmware/ u should have only one ver. of SST on the PC/or Laptop !!!!!!

if u are setting up up a network/ u do not need the SST !!!

please explain what are u trying to do ?????

Maybe I wasn't clear. I'm trying to format and install the firmware. As I tried to connect to the copier via network - it didn't work. So I took the alternate way, using parallel ports.

                        on ir105

When installing a new blank Canon Service Replacement HDD you must utilize Mode C on ir105 to format the
                        entire HDD.

Ok ! - so u have a new HDD in the ir105 ?/ if not u can format the old HDD in the service mode /and u need to re-install the ir105 Firmware ? / /
u have the SST installed on your PC- correct & not on a Laptop- ?
