To reset an E005 you must enter Service Mode.
    1. Enter Service Mode
    2. Press the number 6 key then the the OK key located under cover
    3. Proceed to address 619 by pressing 6-1- 9 on the number keys and then press the OK key. 00_ will be shown in the display.
    4. Then press the Additonal Function key then the OK key. The power switch will shut off. E005 will be cleared.

however i am at the point where i can enter service mode by pressing the service button hidden in the front cover, i press *6* and see the counters, i scroll to the web counter, i can highlight it but nothing i do resets it, i tried pressing clear, tried the service mode key to reset it , nothing works.

go in to service mode again > then *4* to clr error

          Item
          *1*
          Display
          *2* I/O ADJUST
          *3* ADJUST
          *4* FUNCTION

That will clear the error, but if the web is used up, the web needs to be changed and the web counter reset too. It has been a long time for me to see this old beasty as well, I believe the web counter is under "6", counters, get to the one relating to cleaning web, and hold the service switch in using paper clip, and press the clear button. Otherwise your cleaning web error will come back to haunt you...

1st you need to replace the cleaning web, then reset error with
              $ * 4 * find error and press *

I already mentioned that... but the job is only half done if, as I stated in my message, the web counter is not reset...

It is also a problem with this copier, if the counter increments above the 250000 clicks in the upper limit of the counter, it will error out with an E005. I have forgotten to do this a number of times in the past, and got to revisit the machine to simply reset the counter. You can reset the E005 all day, but if the counter does not get reset to "0", the error will not stay cleared.NP6551 web counte&#11.pdf

                      For E000, E001, E002, E003, E004, E005, E013, and E020, you must initialize
the data in the RAM on the DC controller PCB.

in other words/ must clear counter

to reset the web counter you must press the service switch (inside the little hole in the front panel), and the clear key at the same time

                          Thanks for adding that milldew!

navigate to the Counter>Web, highlight Web, and do as milldew instructed...
