After format and installation, all whith out any problems , machine comes up with E602-002. Reinstalled again..same issue. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

In service mode Copier / Function / System & select HD-CHECK followed by pressing OK key. This check will count backward from 99% & run for approx. 10 minutes . The results of HD-CHECK will be displayed in LCD

1. OK

2. NG { hardware } may need new HD, try HD format 1st.

3. NG { software } restored / alternative sector } is displayed. Will need to install new system software.


When HD-CHECK is complete run HD-CLEAR in service mode Copier / Function / System then select HD-Clear followed by the OK key. HD-CLEAR will initialize the partition specified by CHK-TYPE. Once complete you will need to re-boot machine. After clearing the HD the boot process will take longer then return to normal.

E602-0002 - A HD data read error was detected when the HD was started up.

Cannot find the System File Using the Service Support Tool [SST], perform HD
FORMAT [Equivalent to High Level Format].
Make sure when u added the New HD-FORMAT Ver. in SST under ir2830/ that u deleted the old HDD-Format ver.


To perform HD Format, perform the following:
1. Enter Download Mode by holding 2&8 and powering ON.
2. Start Service Tool and perform HD Format first
then
3. Reinstall System Software, RUI, & Language.
First make sure that u have only one version of the SST on Laptop/ was 2830 HDD ok before Error code/

what were attempting to do in the first place ??

Machine did not have a hdd or print. I am attempting to upgrade for cust. I got the hdd from mem. experts model specific.
I will follow you inst. and see if i screwed up before.......Thanks!

Guess it would help to have the install instructions or svc. manual. I have run format (all) O:K, installed sys.,lang. rui, boot. (says its already there) still i overwrote it. goes through all items fine ,restart machine goes through writing to hdd then shuts off to restart and then E602-002. I must be doing something wrong or not in sequence.
