    E246-002 in 8500

I am getting an E246-002 in iR8500. The display shows "wait.." for sometime and pop ups the code. The code is not listed in my manual.

    Anyone know what this is.
    Thanks

David the reason why its not in the manual, is because its not suppose to be happening. This is a counter pcb error.
You would have to put back the original counter pcb or call Canon.

Screwtape is correct, it is related to the counter PCB. Try reseating the counter PCB. It could be a faulty Main controller or counter PCB. I did come across something interesting. A smaller machine had the code and it turned out to be the modem PCB.
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.

          Counter Memory PCB
          not being recognized on
          power up.

Never operate the equipment without the Counter Memory PCB installed

the Counter Memory PCB is a matched board with the
ECO ID PCB and cannot be swapped with one from any other engine. Doing so may change the error code,
will not correct the problem and will certainly add confusion, thus increasing downtime.
