[Electrical] c3170 burns a line on the drum

On a couple of my c3170s the customer has complained about a line. I have found a line burned onto the drum from front to rear, as if the charging roller stayed on and burned it; I replaced the drum. What could cause this and how to prevent it in the future?

More than likely your DCON version is too low and needs to be upgraded. This was a common problem about 3 years ago with the 3100/3170 series machines.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

simple fix/ U need the software update that addressed this issue

line caused by the charging roller remains on the surface of photosensitive
      drum

A modification is made, so that the charge to the charging roller is
disabled at the emergency stop. upgrade the DCON > DCon 45.01

Make sure u have Firmware 45.01 or later+

That sounds more like it, Charm5496; Thank you for your input. Where can I get or buy the latest System Software for the iR-c3170?
