You can initialize the HDD for printing.
Press * (additional functions), press 2+8 simultaneously, then press * (additional functions) again. You should see service mode now, press Copier->Function->System.
Select CHK-TYPE. Press 3 and hit OK.
    Select HD-CLEAR. Press OK.

I've also had some luck fixing can't print issues by restore settings back to factory default.

This is so true.. This kicked my ass before. A wanna be Bill gates IT guy thought he should change some settings on the machine and did not make any notes about it.
I wanted to smack the crap out of him. Of course he blame the machine. Stupid idot.

                  Sounds daft
I had something close to this
The customer couldn't print, But there still could use I-Send and send Emails
Try clearing MMI in service mode (BUT take a config print 1st to re-enter this info afterwards
                  {*) > 2+8 > {*) > Copier > Functions > Clear > MMI > OK, the back out of service mode and reboot
Re-Enter the IP Settings and give it a go
                  Good Luck

                        {*) > 2+8 (Together) > {*) > Copier > Functions > Clear > MMI > OK, the back out of service mode
MMI may be on 2nd page down, (Press the down arrow on the bottom of the display)

When you come out of service mode, it will ask you for ID & Passcode
Reboot the device, and then re-enter your network info

Finger crossed, it will help you out

teckat, I had a simalier problem as this thread, where i couldn't print via network, but could see the RUI, and print things from the RUI (Address Book), Also I could email from the device (Proving that it was on the network)
I couldn't work out what was wrong, so i called a one of my senior techs, and said clear MMI, so i did, and this cleared the fault
So just passing on the info

Remember, when we or anyone posts a Service Mode Procedure in the Forum, it is best to explain what happens after the procedure is preformed, and what settings it effects/ and what adjustments or settings have to be put back in Printer model afterward.

MMI Clears following user mode setting values:
                          - Backup data for copy operation panel (user-set values)
                          - Common settings backup data (user-set values)
                          - Backup data (except fax data) (user-set values)
                          Attention:
The setting values are cleared after the main power switch is turned OFF/ON.
                          Operation method
                          1) Select this item, then press the OK key.
                          2) Turn the main power OFF/ON.
