    Eight years of information would take up too much space here/ play it by ear/

    check your firmware versions first/ print out data sheets for each machine to compare firmware ver's.

    are u receiving any type service history logs with them ??

    Last firmware update was 2006/2007/2008

    5000=v20.01
    5000i=v47.01 w/controller upgrade kit
    5000i=v9.01 w/out kit
    5000d/6000d=v83.02
    5020/5020i/6020/6020i=v59.51

      Very solid copier. Excellent choice. Aside from the usual items (fuser rollers, feed tires, corona wires) very few problems. Good idea to learn how to reset a fuser code (E001, E003) which might come up once or twice a year.

      One very minor issue is adding toner. I'd say like 50% of the ones I've worked on the latch that holds the bottle down while you add toner is broken. Just be sure to press down on the bottle when you pull that slider out, or replace the broken housing. I've noticed there is an overflow chamber that gets filled and makes it harder to add toner.

      Overall one of Canon's best though IMHO.

            I don't mean to be so negative, but "brand new"??? Like they have sat in a warehouse for 5 or 6 years? I'd just be sure to look them over good, since there have been some posts on E3xx codes and how to reset meters. I'd pull out the drawers and shine a flashlight behind everything, there shouldn't be any paper dust, connectors shouldn't have any wear, plastic housings for the fans shouldn't be warped or cracked. Even if it sat in a warehouse for years it should still have that NEW look to it.

            But on the good side, if they are new it is not uncommon for them to go 500,000 copies before the 1st service call which was usually the web running out. Not a guarantee it will go 500k, but I've had many ir5000's in my territory and I would highly recommend them. I still have a dozen or so, one with 4 mil at a school running monthly newsletters, I only have 3 or 4 service calls a year on it.

                The machines are the Image Runner Advance 5030, 5045i with fiery and the 5051 models. They came from a dealer in Dublin right out of the box. The company is Office Technology Ltd, based in Dublin. We are Ricoh/KM dealers but have a customer that insisted on canon colour machines so we got these. I thought they were a relatively new model.

                    That's a big difference.

                    From a 5000/5020 to a image runner Advance.

                            Errr......Well I made a good pitch for an IR5000 anyway. I don't know much about the Color IR Advance series, but if it is anything like an IRC3200 or IRC5180 I'd recommend it. Avoid an old beast known as the IR3100 and it's sidekick the IRC6800.
