I agree with MrFixit, looks like cleaning blade to me.

If it isn't cleaning blade, the other thing it looks like is the mylar by the potential control. You can remove the developer and clean it, but it is a lot easier to clean if you have the AP assembly out.

      I don't know?

I thought at first it was the blade.

But as I look at the image, I see the voids.

not a cleaning blade issue/ shows a clean void area / also the dark edges are to straight/

I stand firm with the corona's being the cause of the issue.

              Update
We've had an engineer replace the drum, cleaning blade, dead unit & all coronas, still have the same problem.
On the scan I posted the streak is right to the edge of the paper, the border must have been added by the scanner I used.

what do u mean the scanner added the non-image boarder / what about optics / Laser path

Is defect exactly the same now? I still hold that it is a cleaning issue. Did the tech use blade lube on the new blade, I don't trust in the amount that is applied by manufacturing? Was the drum new or a known good used drum, and if used was it polished prior to installation? is the led string above the blade clean and lighting up properly? When the AP unit is removed from the copier, can the streaks be noted on the drum surface? Is there a buildup of toner in the pre transfer corona?

It is exactly the same, the drum was removed from a working 105.
Yes the tech used the lube on the blade since I asked what it was.
There was a fair bit of toner on/in the AP Assembly when it was removed.

Try swapping the entire blade unit, so you get the LED string as well as a different blade holder so you can rule that out. Make sure the mylar that rides on the drum as D_L_P mentioned is clean. I know how frustrating this is...

Earlier you said the Doc. image was scanned from iR105 machine glass/ now u state that the copy is from a scanner attached to your PC. ??

if that shadow does not change in width and height after 10/20 copies/ or prints >it has to be something in optic path.

how experienced was this person that swapped all these parts/ without following a troubleshooting procedure

I put a piece of blank paper on the 105's glass and copied it, getting the streaks across the top of the page, I also printed from the PC to the 105 getting the same result.

I then scanned the paper the 105 output with a scanner attached to my PC, which created a white border around the scan.

The tech has well over 15 years experience working on copiers.

He came to the conclusion that it may have something to do with the optic.
