e57a-8003 on a iR7086

Evening,
Here is my weird request for this week. One of my teammates called me to ask if I've ever seen an error code of E57a-8003 on an iR7086. I know the machine she was asking about and found it hard to believe that this unit would have a code like that. This 7086 is nothing more than the marking unit and a finisher V1. No saddle stitch, no other external items. Any thoughts???

Check the stapler unit. If the stapler is in the clinched position, it will interupt the movement of the paper edge stopper. Check that area.

Update: The stapler is in the clinched postion however she can't do much about it since they are remodeling the school so she has no access to the machine or power needed. Thanks for the info)

She can still remove the stapler unit, inspect it.
If its in a clinched position, she can tried to unclenched the position of it.

The staple unit is the culprit at this moment.

No. The school is being torn down for remodeling. We can't get on the property. Oh well school doesn't start again for a while so we'll just have to wait until they give the all clear. Thank you again Screwtape. You and teckat are fantastic.

just had this same error code, never seen it before and it's not in the manual, but you were right the stapler was in the clinched position.
