    [Misc] email functions canon irC3220

HELP Please!! I have been through the forums and can only find where to change the smtp ports. How do I set up the smtp server? I would like to be able to scan documents and have the machine send them to my user's email box. Any help will be trully appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

The copier acts as an e-mail client just like any other workstation, not a server. You just need to tell the copier what the IP address is of your SMTP server and give it a sender's name, (and authentication if needed).
Go Additional Functions-> System Settings-> Network Settings-> E-mail/I-Fax Settings. Enter the SMTP server and an e-mail address (it doesn't have to be a valid e-mail).
If your SMTP requires authentication then you will need to setup an email box with user/password and add it at the Auth. Info button.

DLP gave you the right direction.

      The question is...

      Do you have universal send?

        Thank you.

Thanks a lot SCREWTAPE and D_L_P!

I do not have the email option, or at least I don't think I do. I will check tomorrow morning. If I don't, how do I add it. Like I said, I found the location to change the SMTP port. Not sure how to check if I have universal send.

        Thanks again,

        james

You should see a send tab at the top of the control panel lcd.
You should see, copy, send, mailbox or scan.

            No Send

            Hey SCREWTAPE,

I don't have a send. All I have is COPY ; MAIL BOX; and SCAN. Is this a feature we have to pay for or can we install ourselves?

            Thanks again!

              Hey SCREWTAPE,
Searched and found my answer, well part of it anyway. I see that universal send is an option we have to pay for but is it something easy enough we can install or should we have a rep come out?

              Thanks,
              james

To install the U-send function on a 3200 you have to a have a dongle and install a program that comes with the box. I would pay the 30 minutes of labor and have a trained tech come out an install it on the device. Or you might be able to work it out and have a tech install and configure the U-send for you and not have any head aches at all!!!!

Have a tech install it and help you set it up.

                    Hope everything works out.

                    Take care.

Its also going to require a resolution switching board A2 when Universal send is going to get installed.
