first all ram clear in*17 39* mode. then change potential control to off by going copier>option>body>po con

if it is not cleared. start a color copy stop when 2nd color processed . remove drum unit. and see the drum for toner processed or not. if on drum ok, then see the belt if copy on belt not ok, then check 1st transfer roller connection and check 3 springs pushed up the roller. the middle spring must tobe there.
if copy on ITB ok then you must have to check the earth plate connection touches of the small rubber roller edge properly. this is importent. if not coming properly replace the itb and conform first. then you can go for hvt or dc controller

You have made some good points about the ITB ass'y.
I know about the springs. What a head banger it is to get those springs back.

I have ask... What is *39???

      I think I could understand *17
But *1&7.. Isn't that fixed Ip mode??

      What is *39???

And how do clear ram using these, perhaps 1 or 2 functions.

You can clear ram from service mode.

Which pcb's ram are you telling him to clear?

      Please post back.

17 press while boot up will fix ip mode. But i told after machine get ready. instead of *>2&8>*, you press * > 1&7 after 3&9 > *. you will 3goto factory mode. in this select box 1 it is "355 all ram clear" select value "2". it will clear all dump and everything. please note that address book, mail box, and memory will be cleared. so take back up before you do this. this will help you to clear dump of images making all copies light or dark or unknown type of lines like that.

You are trying to tell poster to go in Level 3 =**Any adverse affects on the machine will not be supported by Canon USA if Level 3 service modes are adjusted.

why would u even do that/ u don't have to be in fixed IP to clear RAM/ AND ABOUT THAT FACTORY MODE _ there is a Factory mode, but that is not it -an E355 Clear-should not be used-unless it shows on control panel.
your Level 3 procedure is all wrong.

E355 error code is due to no communication between the Main-Controller board and the Serial Number board below it

Printing issues need to be investigated with a Procedure _ that's what the Image Test Prints are for.
Trained techs know they have to print out Data sheets before any type of RCON or DCON clear .
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
