    Paper Tray issue in IR3300

Hi, I have canon IR 3300 photo copier. In my second tray there is one metal strip, exactly at right bottom. This strip comes below the tray. If tray is not installed this metal strip jumps up and down. Can anyone help me.
Also what are the gears need to be replaced in paper tray problem??

Metal strip you are talking about is probably lifter for plate in cassette...lifter ratchet gear, lifter lock claw and lifter arm claw need to be replaced...tray two not bad to change...top cassette is a pain in the butt. I hope you are good at puzzles....part numbers fb6-2778,fb6-2781,and fb6-2789 i believe....good luck. Most techs wont even crack that pickup assembly open...its a science project.

I love this model (IR3300) but Canuck is correct...not much fun repairing these cassette feed units but at least you have the bottom one malfunctioning. And you have to repair it because last time I checked I think I was told that the whole cassette feed unit is not an item Canon sells to dealers.

You can get the entire cassette feed unit from Canon FG6-5644-130. It will be several hundred dollars though if you are not a authorized dealer.

if you got it open that far,do yourself a favor and change all three...its the lock claw teeth that are broken...the ratchet gear lifts it,the lock claw holds it after each step. Its lifting then dropping continually.....thats why the lifter plate is flopping up and down. And yes,it is expensive to replace entire assembly....customer cost is over a grand.400,330,200,...all machines with this type of pickup assembly have this weakness...also drive gear doesnt walk up properly to change to upper or lower cassette...put a spacer between housing pieces

Theese parts are from the paper deck, they are the gears that lift the cassette lifter.
Remove the cassette deck, remove the board & the cover under & you will see them.
