    How to Increase Average no. of copies in IR 6000

    Currently my Toner is giving an Average of around 20000 Copies per KG.

    I have 2 Questions regarding this.

    On What Basis do we get the Average Number of Copies in the Photocopier Machines?
    Is it the Machine Average Setting?
    Or
    Is it the Toner that we use in the Machine?

    Also,
    How can I Increase the Average Of the Machine?

      There are 2 numbers that are normally related to a copier. Toner yield and duty cycle. I think you are talking about toner yield which is based on copies/prints that have 5 or 6% coverage (a normal printed document without graphics of any type). If you are making copies that are heavy with graphics or pictures then your copies per toner cartridge will be significantly less. The best way to ensure you get the best results is to maintain the machine according to Canon specs.

      The other number is generally the duty cycle which is the number of copies you can make before you will need to service the machine. 100,000 or 500,000 copies depending on model. This is set by the manufactorier(?) and can not be changed. Hope this is helpful.

                  I am using IKON Toner.
                  And yes... i was talking about Toner Yield.... however thanx to you guys... i have come to know 1 more thing about the Duty Cycle....

                          Why not the Canon Genuine Toner ?
                          If IKON is cheap, you should expect cheap quality, cheap yield, etc etc

                          Normally, non-Genuine toners are cheap in first place, in long run are associated with complications like damages to components of the waste toner system eg gears, screw/spiral, etc

                          Cheap is Expensive!
