have a message light flashing, with error e02802 check printhead, no connections other then power are on the printer all dipswitches are to the rear of machine

Error code is for_
Incorrect printhead is installed.


Need BC 1400
whenever replacing the PH's, you must first upgrade firmware using the old PH then once the firmware upgrade has completed replace the PH.

Yes I understand that, its the oringal print head that was in the machine, before the firmware was up graded. When I try and run a check print head, the machine tells me to please wait and I left it for 5 hrs on the please wait, waiting for it to cycle the print head to get to it, and nothing had happened. Everything seemed to go bad after the firmware update. when I connect the printer through the usb it will see the printer in the print manager. But I can not access the printer for it is off line through the network connection. and the online light on the machine can not be turned on due to the error. Also the print head worked with the printer before the firmware up grade, and it has never been changed before. Any help would be grateful.

the print head is a ih14005 print head that is in it. One of the older techs just informed me that the unit does use the canon software but the unit is acutually a Graphtech master JW1100, does that help anymore?

your machine is a Graphtech JW1000 _ why post on a Canon site ???

Older tech told u it can use Canon Software > why don't u have them fix it

I have found out they are the machine, they use canon drivers to make it print. They are identical, and I was informed by canon to use their software for this machine. If you have any other suggestions I would be happy to take it, I am getting closer to pushing it off the roof of the 8 floor.

One of the reps from canon and a tech support from canon confirmed this, before I even tried. But I am starting to think they were wrong.

I am located in Williamsburg mi
no dealer near me,
and it would not print the adobe or autocad, and it was suggested by my boss to update the flash.

is there a way to update the printhead or reinstall the update, I can not access my printer. I wont let me get it back online?

I would Look online for instructions on removing & cleaning that printhead model type.
May help.

Since u have an error, u can't use the FUT ( Firmware Update Tool ).
U will probably need to try again the L PRINTER TOOL_procedure to select\point to PRINTERS Firmware and give it a go.

the permanent error is E196-404E. I think, it means EEprom error, and i must change the main board. But the price is too much for me.
I want to try the L Printer Service tool to update the firmware, then I hope the error disappears.

But I can't find the software everywhere and the service doesn't help.

What can I do?

Thank you for sending the program, but it doesn't work. The program works, but i can't send the new firmware because the button "transfer firmware" is grey I think because the printer has an error.
update: In special mode "download mode" it works, the new firmware is on the printer, but the error is the same, shit...
