    Canon IR C3170U different codes E0020, E0021, E0026, E0803

I got through most of the codes. It does need yellow toner. Looks like the whole bottle came loose
on the inside. The patch sensor was dirty and there is a lot of yellow toner in this machine.
The transfer belt does not clean itself. The drum looks like the cleaning blade needs to be cleaned,
unless it is transfering from the transfer belt? More yellow toner. I did get it to feed. These guys
    bought this at an auction.
How hard are these machines to work on? And are they worth the trouble?

    Thanks

I concur with Screwtape, the 3100/3170 can be a beast. That auction item would have been better passed over. These typically required a great deal of service, for minimal color quality. The cost of parts that this machine needs probably far exceeds its value. Good luck!

Thanks for your open opinions. I was afraid that is what I would hear.
Well, I will tell the customer. Sounds like it is not even worth fixing?
To bad, these guys are excited about selling this box for about $2500. They said it was to good of
a deal to pass up. Now they will find out why it was such a good deal.

I was told the customer found a wholesaler in Calif. to buy it for $1100 as is. Sounds fishy.

they no doubt are buying it as a parts machine,,, but I believe they are actually paying too much for it, but let that be their problem ;-)
