An E051 is home position sensor. Turn off the machine, lift the document feeder, turn on machine and watch the scanner. It should try to move to home position - if it moves but still codes - check the sensor (and its' conector). For a better test, after turning off the unit, remove the glass and move the scanner about half way towards the right side of the machine, replace the glass, tuen on the machine. Should move towards the left before it codes.

The error is the horizontal registration. It is located on top of the feed assembly, you have to remove the assembly to get to it. There will be a little motor that drives the assembly and usually the white gear on that motor cracks and causes the unit to operate incorrectly.

Thats right. Don't waste time with the scanner as your problem is inside the copier. On top area of the Paper input unit there is a long flat skinny white geared piece driven by motor m3 which triggers sensor P11. Something is interfering with this assemby's movement or the sensor is bad or dirty or that gear Poonking mentioned could be the problem.
