[Misc] Most Popular Models? Troublesome Models

Hiya I'm looking to learn more about Canon machines, what models should I learn about. I've been a Ricoh tech for 5 years. What models have issues? Any Recommendations?

Good Canon color models - IR C4080_4580_5180_5185 / IR C3200_3220_2620 Although the C3220 series does lack a decent feeder it is still a good machine.
As for B&W boxes I would recommend almost any new (or low meter used) ImageRunner copier though the IR 5050_5055_5065_5070_5075_5570_6570 series are my least favorite monochrome machines - but still not bad overall. Canon is by far my favorite brand.
Funny really - that Canon is so consistant at putting out good B&W copiers but only about half of their color machines deserve a good recommendation.

Stay far far away from the color models Teckat listed as undesireable - he's right on. But ( LOL )he did throw me a little recommending the C3480 and also saying stay away from it as a used box. Must be a typo as his advice is usually great. I would avoid the 3480 series (IR C2550_2880_3380_3480) and favor the stronger color machines over them.

The iR3570 and 4570 were no prize, either.

If any of the one's metion to stay away from, it would be the IRc3100 and the 6800 series.

I agree that you should stay far away from the iR3100/6800 -series...

But why teckat you are saying that iRC2880/3080 are bad models? Here in Finland we have many many 2880's which are working like a charm. For example there's one which has over 450k in its meter and its still up and running. And one iRC3580 which has nearly 500k in its meter and also working really well. There's only needed to change few times rollers and drums.

We have one CLC3200 in our warehouse which has about 350k in meter and its quite ready to go for bale...

Hard to say yet if the new imageRUNNER Advance -series is bad or good. First impressions are good. But we'll see!

                  I love the 3380 machines.

If they are sold as Office Colour machines in the right environment. The are useless as full colour.

too bad the Sales People don't sell them that way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if a Salesperson feels they can make a sale, they will put in any box that will fit/ or in most cases a box that will not fit.
All our sales people are now required to carry a Tape Measure> and sketch out location area with measurements before final sale/ with customer signing off on it/ it prevents headaches & lawsuits in future.

I second that. Seems, that all over the world Salespersons are the same sort of mankind

I thought so my friend! It was either a typo or you were checking to see if we actually pay attention to what u write (LOL) . Those boxes are useless as volume color printers. Fine for volume B&W and light duty convenience color only.

I actually like those boxes. What kind of trouble did those models give you? If you are good at resolving the jamming issues on the right side door area of the copier - the machine is pretty good - but I grant you that its predecessor the 2200/2800/3300i series was much better but they are getting kinda old now to resell.

Yeah Ricoh color machines are almost all business color even up to the 75 CPM model. I don't think they have one that is for mass color production. Least not that I have access to look up. most of the newer ones are pretty good still. The older ones ones, ewwww Guess many manufacturers suffer from making quality color machines.
