IRC 3220 Printing no function

As I only have IRC3200 service & parts manual , Could you show me where are they installed in the machine.

Color Universal Send Kit-
A2P for Color imageRUNNER

Universal Send makes it simple to convert color hard-copy documents into
digital files for sending to one or many destinations. With this feature, the enduser
can scan, save and instantly send documents in any of five file formats,
including JPEG, TIFF, PDF and compact PDF.
Note: The Color Universal Send function requires a dongle when installed on
the Color imageRUNNER C2620/C3220.

Need to order Color Universal Send Kit-
A2P from Canon

A simple way to verify that a Resolution Switching Board (Send Board) is installed in the imageRunner is to check in Service Mode.
*28* > Copier > Display > ACC-STS > SEND
SEND will indicate "0" if NO Resolution Switching Board in installed
SEND will indicate "1" if the Resolution Switching Board is installed

Identify if a Resolution Switching Board is Installed in a Color imageRUNNER
A Resolution Switching Board is required to use the Color Universal Send Kit or G3 Fax Board M1.


To identify if the Resolution Switching Board is installed, and installed correctly, first look at the board slot covers on the cage unit at the back of the imagerunner. The Resolution Switching Board is NOT installed if the second cover from the bottom has two bumps (nipples) diagonally across from each other. If the plate surface is flat, the board is installed.

Next, check that the board is installed correctly. Remove the back cover of the Color imageRUNNER copier.
Once the back cover is removed, the metal plate has to be unscrewed.
Note: When removing the metal plate, be careful not to break the fan wire and not to damage the power supply.

The Resolution Switching Board is pictured Below. It is installed in the second PCI slot from the bottom. Reseat the board to refresh the connections. WARNING: Power off the imageRUNNER before disconnecting any electrical components.

imageRUNNER C2620 / C3200 / C3220 Installing the Color Universal Send Kit

The procedure for installing the Color Universal Send Kit


IMPORTANT: The procedure described below is for the C2620/C3200/C3220 models only; enabling the universal send kit on newer Color imageRUNNER models is totally different than the steps described below. On newer models the USend kit needs to be activated through the License Management System (LMS). A License Access Number (LAN) number is required instead of a dongle.

• 10/100Base-T crossover cable

* Note - The imageRUNNER will also need to have the Resolution Switching Board installed.

Connecting the Copier to PC (Network Connection)

1. Turn off the copier power and PC power.
2. Disconnect the Ethernet cable, modular cable, and other cables connected to the copier.
3. Take the enclosed protect key device (parallel dongle) out of the conductive bag and connect it to the parallel port of the PC.
4. Connect the copier and PC with the prepared crossover cable.
5. Turn the PC power on.
6. While holding down the 1 and 7 keys on the numeric keypad together, turn the copier power on. (Keep the numeric keys down for several seconds.) Powering on with the 1 and 7 keys down automatically sets the network connection of the copier. (IP Address: 172.16.1.100, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0)
7. For communication between the copier and the PC, set an appropriate IP Address and Subnet Mask on the PC.

Installing the Protect Key Device Driver

1. Insert the enclosed iR series Send System Setup Tool CD-ROM into the PC CD-ROM driver and double-click the hdd32.exe file on the CD-ROM. (IRSEND: \English\Vxxxx\hdd32.exe).
2. Select the language and click OK.
3. Click Next.
4. Click Finish to complete the installation.

Note: If the hdd32.exe file is not executed, you will see "Protect Key Device Driver Not Found".
Installing the iR Series Send System Setup Tool

1. Insert the enclosed iR Series Send System Setup Tool CD-ROM into the PC CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click the Setup.exe file on the CD-ROM. (IRSEND: \English\Vxxxx (version) \setup.exe)
3. Click OK.
4. Click the PC icon.
5. Click Continue.
6. Click Finish to complete the installation.

Adding the Send Option

1. Enter Service mode and press COPIER - Function - SYSTEM - DOWNLOAD - OK to make the copier ready for download. (Note: the Send Option cannot be added in Download mode of Safe mode (copier power-on with the 2 and 8 keys down)).
2. Activate the iR Series Send System Startup Tool from PC.
3. Check that the type of the connected protect key device is bi-Centronics for x1P. Then click OK.
4. Select Network, enter the IP address of the copier, and click OK.
5. Click OK.
6. Click OK.
7. Click END.
8. Click OK to finish adding the Send Option.
9. Turn the copier power off and on.
10. Check that the Send button had been added to the operator panel screen of the copier.

After Work

1. Check the serial number of the copier and turn the power off.
2. Remove the protect key device from the PC.
3. Turn the PC power off.
4. Disconnect the crossover cable between the copier and PC.
5. Connect the Ethernet cable, modular cable, and other cables disconnected before work.
6. Enter the serial number of the copier into the enclosed serial number label and stick the label to the protect key device (parallel dongle).
7. Put the protect key device in a conductive bag and pass it to the user with the iR Series Send System Setup Tool CD-ROM. Instruct the user to store them securely.

Although the machine has Resolution Switching Board installed in the second PCI Slot & G3 Fax Board , but I don't have the protect key device and iR series Send System Setup Tool, Could I use formated 1G USB device instead of parallel dongle and do I need a License key for using Color Universal Send. Anyway this is a good for training. It is right " knowledge is time consuming "

u need to purchase the Color Universal Send Kit-A2P for this model / I believe the dongle is still needed on the 3200 series/ no USB function on 3220

what is the price around in U.S and could it be used on more than one IRC 3200 copier. I know the dongle is a software protection device, is it included or we buy it from computer company.

Its married to that unit when its installed.

Dongle is Married to machine installed on/ can not be transferred to another .

The 3200/3220/2620 They don't use the LMS) system. License Management System.

To find out whether a model is equipped with SEND functions, make the following selections in service mode:
1. Enter Service Mode by hitting Additional Functions, 2 and 8, and then Additional Functions.
2. Hit COPIER > DISPLAY > ACC-STS and view the value for SEND.
3.If a 0 is displayed for SEND, then the Send function is absent, if a 1 or 2 is displayed for SEND, then the Send function is present.

Yes, I had tested the machine according to your instructions, the value of SEND under COPIER > DISPLAY > ACC-STS is 1
If I have the ir series Send System Tool Software and the dongle, I can activate the function of Network Scan. is it correct.
