Well the laser checks out well.
There's is a lot more things to check within the image formation area. Use your knowledge.

      Hi

Try grounding the bias connector on the dev unit. If their is no difference in density the problem is your dev unit or HV board related.

Make sure that the toner save mode is not turned on.

Post some copies of issue/ u mention light copies/ how are prints & DF scans

When making copies or prints, images come out light or washed out ?????

It has been found that replacing the High voltage Cable can resolve the problem. Part number for the High Voltage Cable is (FG6-5057-000).

Just go to service mode and disable the potential control(. Cleaning of charge/transfer corona won't help u.

            COPIER>OPTION>BODY>PO-CNT (enable/disable potential control)
            0: disable potential control
            1: enable potential control

If u want it "on" then change C/T corona and clean the PO senzor. This is only a preposition. There is no same problems

Although it may seem unrelated I've had a broken ceramic HV connector on the Trans-sep coro cause washed out prints and the 5570 is notorious for breaking this part due to customers slamming the transport closed too violently.

Thats good advice from OZE. I've had a few of those broken plastic HV connectors also! The connector is at the back end of the xfer corona-is the same color as the corona end blocks- and is held in place by one screw. Check that connector out.

                      Re: Ir5570 light copy

Hello everyone, I have a similar problem. The image is very light. I tried turning off potential sensor, but then I get very dark image, the whole page is black. Also tried changing the primary and transfer corona assembly, but image was nothing better. Does anyone have an idea what else could I do? One more thing, there is a very strong smell of ozone when the machine is working, so I think that there could be a problem with HV. Something is sparking somewhereThanks

Hello teckat, thank you for a quick reply. I have checked high voltage cable, it isn't broken and looks ok. When I've entered "1" in COPIER/OPTION/TEMPO/F-POT-SW/ nothing happened, the image is still very very light and it doesn't have the same density across the page. Does that mean that I have a problem with primary corona and HVT?I will post the image so that you can see how it looks. Unfortunatelly, I don't have HV conector right now, I will order it.

holy crap...you just brought back nightmares from when the interal static eleminator block would short out against that screw that was too long on the back side. That problem was a pain until we finally tracked it down.
