The Bias Contacts on the rear frame of the machine may be making poor contact. They separate when the clam-shell is opened. Since the machine uses bias for the toner present circuitry, if there is a problem with bias to the developer unit, a false "Add Toner" indication may occur. Clean and reform the contacts as necessary to ensure a good connection.

but these clam-shell NP6000 series all have those bias contacts/& same symptom when deformed**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
