IRC2550 hot to set a password for Web User Interface ?

    Dear Expert

Recently my client bought a Canon IR C2550 and it was installed within an AD environment, with a private ip address 192.168.0.32

Right every one can access the web user interface for the printer (i.e Web Management) by typing in a browser :

http://192.168.0.32 (no window pops up asking about for a username and a password)

I tried to look for an option to enable username and password but I could not figure out where

Can someone advise me where can I find that ??

    My second question

Canon technician set up Under : Additional Function > Department Management ID two accounts (department IDs) with two different passwords

One of them to copy (not print) black and white and other for copying (not printing) color document

If the password for black and white is handed to a user to make copy for a work related document that user (if he/she has knowledge) can change the setting from black and white to color ,,,,,Can I prevent that ?

    Thanks

There is no practical reason to require id and password for Remote User Interface, copies or prints are not made through this application. It is for administrative purposes.

I can't tell you how, but yes, the color printing as well as copies can be limited to id/password schemes. Color can do everything, but b/w can only do b/w activities. I have an Application Specialist that sets up all the features as you described, that is why I can not help you with the changes, only inform you that yes, they can be set up that way.
