Flashing Canon's with a thumb drive

Could anyone tell me what brand of thumb drives will work on Canon copiers? Guess I need brand, size, and FAT, FAT32 etc. Thanks in advance.

I use a 8GB SANDISK CRUSER , and used the 4GB version of the same drive before that. Both work fine. Formatted FAT32.
    Yes, I am a nerd.
Gaming PC - check. Raspberry Pi - Check. Custom ROM on phone - check. Thick glasses - check.

I remove all hidden programs on any thumb drive/ on some thumb drives even if u format them, hidden programs remain, check manufactures web site for directions on removal. better to be safe than sorry,

          Specs

USB Memory Device specifications are as follows:
          1. USB 2.0 or a higher Interface
          2. 1 GB or more capacity
          3. FAT (FAT16), FAT32 format
          4. Single partition

U3 Smart Drives are not recommended for flashing the machines because they come preinstalled with the U3 Launchpad, which emulates the Windows OS start menu, and controls program installation.

You can remove the U3 crap if you are stuck with one that has it.

Our company uses Kingston 2gig and 8gig, with factory format, with no problems.

I have been using a CBM brand 2GB that I have been able to fit software for IRA5000, IRA9000, IR7105, IR3245, and IR5075 all on. I also tried a another no brand 8GB that didn't work at all.
The glass maybe half full, but less is more...
Printer + Fax + Copier = Jack Of Many Trades,
                      but Master Of None
Color Copier = Not A Color Printer
InkJet MFP = Not A Fax Machine
                      B/W Copier = Not A Press
Finisher = Deal Closer (salesman, not accessory)
Copier Tech = Admin's Stress Ball (Scapegoat)

make sure that all of the firmware was loaded for all of those models/ five machines on one 2gb stick is a little touchy

mmm , I am sure I "just" managed to fit IRA5051 series , IRC2380 series , IRA9000 series , IR32XX Series and IR50XX series on my older 4gb drive. Thats why I bought the 8gb. Well done for getting all those on a 2gb.

I use a 20 gb drive out of a 4570 in a usb caddy. It will take every machine's software and is in the laptop bag ready to upgrade any machine in a flash. Never had any problems at all.

Yes , that works too. Although lighter the better, I have just finished upgrading 100 32XX machines and having the stick on my keys means faster running round the machines.
