IR3570 wont copy from automatic feeder

    Hi guys

Was wondering if you could help? We have an ir 3570 that has just stopped printing/copying from the automatic feeder. It feeds no problem, selects the paper and spits out the paper but just wont print anything on the paper.

It was printing double sided from the feeder and the next lot of paper put in the feeder for printing was a little to much so the machine would not proceed. Removed some pages and it started printing double sidedas selected but without the print. Any suggestions?

Copies fine manually and prints jobs from pc just the feeder wont print.

    Thanks in advance

issue can occur if one of the Paper Length Sensors on the DADF is stuck.

I would agree with Teckat on that. Have seen it before.

Try doing a Sens-Init from service mode.
        Service Mode (Level 1) > Feeder > Function >Sens-Init>OK

Then perform a tray width adjustment.
        Service Mode (Level 1) > Feeder > Function > TRY-LTR and TRY-LTRR.

Follow the steps below to perform the Tray Width adjustment.
Move the Side Guides to the Letter position. Highlight TRY-LTR and press OK.
Next, move the Side Guides to the Letter R position and highlight TRY-LTRR on the LCD display and press OK.

        Reboot machine.

I too vote for the sensors being activated. Copy 1 states that too many originals were placed in the feeder, and some were removed to make the pile smaller. I'll bet you that the "extra" documents were placed on the right side of the entry tray, awaiting there turn to ride the merry-go-round...

Seen it many times...machine thinks the originals are 17 inch...2200/2800/3300 had same issues. Or curled legal originals not actuating the sensor arm. I wrap a tie wrap around the weight end of the arm...snug it up and cut it to leave no tail...makes them less sensitive...but originals gotta be flat. A little customer training on curled legal originals and problem solved
