Reset Unit 2 - IR 5000 at power up

By opening the front cover, then closed again the error code clears and machine runs
But every time customer turns it off and on it says reset unit 2 again.

Check for paper caught in between unit 2/duplex unit and back frame electrical connector.

Thanks for the quick reply, my 1st post here.

Checked, no paper, both electrical connectors look good, also reset DC controller connectors that lead to unit2

Gave up and swaped unit 2 and fixed customers now the ir5000 at the shop has this problem.

Ive looked thru the book and cant find any kind of door open sensor or micro switch for duplexer/unit 2

No m/sw's or sensors only that connector, suspect 1 contact u/s, replace unit 2 side that normally sorts problem.

Clean and reform the contacts in the connector on the duplex drawer....emery cloth and a jewellers screw driver will fix it. Also look carefully for tiny pieces of paper or paper dust inside the connector. Clean, crimp then flush inside connector with isopropyl alcohol. Same for connector on machine

Please check your small stepping motor(FH6-1253-000) gear on the duplexing unit,it just broken.
Because the horizontal stepping motor is not in the home position
